August wine of the month!

I am a few days late for this but for a good reason. I wanted to combine my review of the wine I chose as well as showcase hydro flasks new release! They have made a wine bottle and a wine tumbler. I was so excited when I saw this that I ordered them immediately.

The wine I chose for the month of August is “White Girl Rosé.” Rosé has hit it big time this summer. It has become so popular in many ways and I love it. I have been searching for this wine with out having to order it online because shipping costs for alcohol can get really expensive. I came across this wine over the weekend while I was out of town in the Catskills here in NY for a wedding. Saturday morning after a late breakfast with my husband we were wondering around town near Hunter Mountain and I saw this small liquor store and I was actually looking for a local wine in the area and as I walked in I saw the “White Girl Rosé.” If the bottle was not $18.99 I would have gotten 2. Especially now after trying it, I wish I had more. But I thought it was expensive so I hope that this was just this liquor store that was maybe over pricing the wine.

This rosé is refreshing and wonderful. It has flavor and is not watered down. It is the perfect summer wine. Add this to your list of wines to try. Especially if you are looking for a good rosé like me this is a must. I am going to look at the website that you can order it from. It depends on the shipping costs but for a case of 12 it is $180 and I do not think that is bad at all. After doing the math of $180 divided by 12 it comes to 15 a piece for each bottle. That is normally my go to limit. The hydro flask tumbler is also awesome. It fits great in the hand and the colors they have are beautiful. The best part of hydro flask is it keeps things hot, cold, and room temperature. What every temperature you need, you will have with this product. They are the best water bottles out their and I am so glad they are releasing other items like these.

Stitch Fix Unboxing!

If you have ever been curious about this subscription box you will definitely want to keep checking my blog. I am a monthly or every other month subscriber because I swear by this box. I plan to be posting whats in my box the week I get it.

When I first started subscribing I was so excited and let me tell you my first box was spot on. I could not believe that out of the 18 boxes I have received there have been 3 boxes where I sent some of the clothing items back. I have never sent a all the clothes back from one box.

This box I got for the month of July was wayyyyy more casual than what I ask for because the new job I started is on a construction site. I have to wear jeans, a t-shirt and steel toed boots. And when you see below they sent me exactly what I needed on top of a new cute top to wear out. The t-shirt in this box was my favorite item because of how soft and comfortable it was. I also liked the pattern. The pricing on everything was not the grand the total. The total was around the $220 range. They give you a discount if you keep all 5 items.

Scroll below to see the items and thanks for stopping by!

Nashelle Trunk Box Unboxing

I am so sorry I have been MIA for almost 2 weeks. I was starting a new job and getting into the swing of things and trying to find a new routine. Thank you for being patient.

Today I would like to share with you my new subscription box find! It’s a quarterly subscription box so you receive a box 4 times a year. It’s a jewelry box based in Bend Oregon. I can across this box from my Aunt who introduced me to their store which also has an online section for you to shop online. Their jewelry is so sweet and feminine. And the cool thing about purchasing a piece of jewelry from them is they donate a plate of food to the homeless. I think it’s pretty great deal to get some cute jewelry while helping feed someone’s belly.

Wine of the month! Kim Crawford Rosé

July’s wine is Kim Crawford rosé! FullSizeRender-3

I was so excited when I saw Kim Crawford was releasing a rosé. This rosé is delicious! I am always on the hunt for a good rosé. Its honestly an on going goal of mine when ever I am at a winery/vineyard or liquor store shopping for wine. This rosé is bright and crisp. It is the perfect summer drink. When I am on the hunt for a good rosé I look for their to be a good flavor. Not blain and tastes like watered down wine. I was not surprised at how good this rosé was because Kim Crawford makes one of my favorite Sauvignon Blanc’s and I would not expect anything less from this company. I would have been shocked if it tasted horrible. I want to try a frosé with this or a summer cocktail but then I don’t want to because its so good on its own!

I 100% recommend you go out and find this or ask you local liquor store to order a case. My friend asked to have it ordered. We paid $13.99 for a bottle. It is worth it believe me!

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Laser Hair Removal

Oh snap! Shit just got real……

It is a hot topic and raises the curiosity in many people. People have questions about cost, pain, why are you doing it?, what it looks like after, and is it worth it?, etc. And the awkwardness depending on where you chose to have hair removed can raise some questions as well.  It also may be an uncomfortable topic for some people to talk about so if you don’t want to hear about how I got my vagina laser’d then skip this blog post.

I am new to the laser hair removal world. I have just finished my last treatment for the Brazilian. Brazilian hair removal is the next step after bikini hair removal. Yes, I went for the whole sha bang! This is my preference obviously. Not everyone likes it to be bare down their. I have gone for 6 treatments. That is what the laser spa I go to recommends (I will link the laser spa below.) The place I go to charges for a package of 3 treatments. So its a set price for 3 treatments, then you pay for another round of 3 after the first 3 are finished, if you would like to continue with treatments. I felt like 3 was not enough I was still having patchy hair growth so I wanted to keep going. Depending on how the hair comes in this time after my very last appointment I may consider another round of 3. The recommend at this point just touch up appointments every 6 months or once a year.

My first appointment compared to my last was pretty equal pain wise. They have to turn up the strength of the laser each appointment to really kill the hair follicle to make the hair thats growing back more fine than coarse. At this point I am all peach fuzz for the most part. Before my last appointment I was patchy right above my clitoris and lips still. Your hair growth in these areas are different so thats why I was experiencing different hair growth in different areas of my vagina. I was scared for my first appointment because before your first real appointment they do a test spot on your stomach to see how your skin will react, if it will blister or be super inflamed. I didn’t even feel the laser when they tested it on my stomach. I was expecting it to hurt a little.  When I went for my first appointment for the Brazilian you have to shave before hand or else it will really hurt and its enough pain as it is with bare skin. It was not bad at all for my first appointment it was tolerable. She had to do 2 passes with the laser. This includes, pubic area, lips, sides of lips where it meets your thigh and if wanted, the back of your butt cheeks. I noticed immediate results. By my second appointment thats when I really hated the pain. They are very quick appointments. By the time the tech starts its less than 5 minutes but its a hot rubber band snapping on your vagina. It is the weirdest feeling ever and it hurts for the split second it happens. Thank god the tech doing mine was quick and just got in their and got it done. My third appointment they actually switched their laser they were using and got a better one where they only have to do one pass. THANK YOU LORD JESUS! That made a world of difference for me! It was easier to get through the quick pain. At this point for hair growth my vagina looked like Brittany Spears ripping her hair out in chunks (haha!) It grows in patchy and finer each time.  I barely had to shave and I actually forget about it at this point because my pubic area is all peach fuzz.

I started on my under arms and I have only had 2 appointments. And noticed immediate results as well after the first appointment. I think laser hair removal is great. Especially if you are like me who gets really bad razor burn or just hates body hair. It drives me nuts! My gynecologist actually asked me about it because she noticed… Awkward but a funny conversation to have with my gyno ask me about my brazilian hair removal. I was expecting her to lecture me on why I should keep my hair down their. Pricing is not bad.  I went to a reputable place that had good reviews but also had Groupons. They also recognize groupon pricing in house. The price went up between treatment packages. First round was $178 second round of 3 was $198.

As for how long it lasts, unfortunately it is not a permanent fix you will need touch ups every 6 months to a year. Or at your own preference. I am going to try to do a 6 month or year update from my last appointment to update anyone on what the hair growth is like at that point.

Thanks for reading and stopping by. If you have any questions I am happy to answer! If you decide to go to advanced aesthetics as for Alex. She was my tech and she is awesome.

Frankie Primo’s +39 Restaurant Review

Ciao! I love good italian food. And this place has stolen my hear. I have high standards now that I have been to Italy for a 10 day culinary tour. This is my new favorite spot in Buffalo NY. Not just because of the food but I also love the atmosphere of the restaurant. The atmosphere is modern as you can also see from the picture. It is a very cool place to just hang out and have a glass of wine or a Negroni. They have an outdoor patio that reminds me of Italy a little because of the brick and the string lights above you.

Lets talk about the food now…. Do not expect your typical spaghetti and meatballs. You are going to get old world rustic italian food and its going to blow your mind (insert boom noise.) This restaurant will introduce you to a whole new world of italian food. This is my kind of italian. Don’t get me wrong my mom’s home made sauce and meatballs will always be a favorite but there is something about simple linguine with garlic, olive oil and kalamata olives. Simple but elegant. I love their take on a caesar salad. It’s not creamy its light and lemony. I have tried a couple of their pasta dishes now and I have not had one I don’t like. They have a great selection of wines and cocktails. The Chianti they have is very good if you like a earthy wine. Desserts are great I have had their cannoli and tiramisu. Some of the best I have had.  To finish off your meal you get a sugar cookie and a complementary taste of limoncello. This was probably one of the favorite parts because it is your traditional italian restaurant to have limoncello or offer a complementary taste. I am not sure if it is homemade but it is really good.

I highly recommend you check this place out. You will not be disappointed. The staff has been so nice each time I have gone and its delicious food.

Grazie per esserti fermato! Addio!

Ayurveda 101

Welcome to today’s topic, Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the traditional Hindu system of medicine, which is the idea of balancing your bodies system by diet, herbal treatment and yogic breaths/ breathing. I was introduced to Ayurveda last June. I have been seeing an Ayurvedic practitioner for a year now. Seeing an Ayurvedic practitioner has personally been very beneficial because unfortunately I have a horrible case of fungus. In hopes to cure or tame this monster of mine I was recommended to go see an Ayurvedic practitioner. I will link his information below of the person I see in the Buffalo/ Rochester, NY area.

When I first went to visit the practitioner I honestly knew nothing about who he was or what Ayurveda was. I had no idea I was walking into an Ayurvedic practitioner’s office. The person who recommended him to me never explained who he was or that he was an Ayurvedic practitioner. I thought he was a holistic doctor of some sort and it was just the next step in the process of my fungal battle. Just because I went to an Ayurvedic practitioner about my fungal issue does not mean you have to go see a practitioner just because you are having a problem with your health. I think it would be very beneficial if people went just to find out what dosha you are and how your system functions. To also find out what foods are good for you and your diet or what foods are not good for you or your diet. Dosha in Ayurvedic medicine is the three energies that define a person’s makeup. The three doshas are Vata, Kapha and Pitta. These are derived from the five elements Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and Air. We all have a combination of the three doshas but one is going to be more prominent than the others. For me I am a kapha (wet and cold.) In the practice, the goal is to find a balance between mind, body, and the environment. See the imagine below for more of an explanation.

Once you find out what dosha you are, you can then start doing exercises that are beneficial as well as eating certain foods that will help your dosha. For me, being a kapha, “wet” foods are not good for me. The simple quote of “you are what you eat.” I am a damp person, and if you think about it, what does fungus like? Wet areas to grow and live in. GROSS!!!! My favorite foods mostly involve pasta, cheese, zucchini, yellow squash and melon. Those are all considered “wet” foods so I now have those in moderation. I switched from whole wheat and regular white pasta to quinoa or corn because, surprisingly, I was told by my practitioner that brown rice pasta is not good for me and normally that is a great alternative for people who are gluten intolerant or who want to avoid the bad carbs. Another shocker for me was that basmati rice was actually a good option for me as a grain to have.

This is all just an insight into this lifestyle and practice. Ayurveda can be really confusing. I was super overwhelmed after my first visit with my new herbal prescriptions given to me (he has his own pharmacy) and then I was thinking I was being somewhat healthy even with my love of pasta and wine. To hear “hey all your favorite foods are actually working against you” threw me into a panic. That hour and half drive home was brutal because I was so confused. I then came home and did as much research and pinning on pinterest to become more knowledgeable with Ayurveda, and dosha’s so for my next appointment I wouldn’t be so shell shocked. I wanted to take control of my life and health. I do not enjoy having fungus. I am a very clean person and I do not know why I was chosen to have this chronic problem. But I am willing to work with it and find the solution to the problem. I have taken every life tip given to me from my practitioner and tried to use it in daily life. Ayurveda teaches you how to have a better lifestyle with you health.

A year later I have gotten a little bit closer but have not cured my chronic fungal problem yet. It is a definite work in progress and I take what I can from my Ayurvedic practitioner and try to use it daily in my life. It is really hard. It is hard to have the foods you love in moderation when you thought they were healthy for you but for me to cure this problem I need to go back to the drawing board. I am going to beat this.

I encourage you to read up on Ayurveda. It is really fascinating and to me, SIMPLE! It is all about taking care of yourself in the best way possible and what foods make you function better. Kind of like a lifestyle change. Kate Hudson talked about Ayurveda highly in her new book “Pretty Happy.” If the celebrities are talking about it, it must be really good.

I hope you enjoyed this quick read. Thanks for stopping by.
